Original paintings, bronze sculpture and etching prints

The Barrett Sisters are from Co. Limerick & have all been full time artists since their teens.
Self-taught & home-educated, their work manifests an individuality that might not otherwise have been the case.

Ailbhe's works are mainly irish landscape based; themes recurring in her work are the stillness of old settlements in our history, & the architecture of both the buildings & the often sculptural, rocky landscape, as in her series on the Bills off Achill Island. The series of paintings she is currently working on describe the dormant season in the landscape, highlighted in the past two severe winters this country has experienced.

Ester is known for her equine paintings, which convey her knowledge of & love of the thoroughbred, & which are strikingly Irish in character & feel. Her painting 'That's a Racehorse'was selected for the recent Cork St Open Summer Show in London.

Her studies of the Story of the Byerley Turk featured large canvases on the Battle of the Boyne and the Battle of Aughrim, now hanging in the Aughrim interpretative centre. The series of four pieces was launched at Stormont buildings June 2010.

She has recently added bronze sculpture to her repertoire, which she says was something of a natural development and is already working to commission.
She was also voted Best young artist by the visiting public at the Salon Internationale de Beauregard in Caen 1999, & won Best Oil Painting at the juried New Jersey Equine Artists Exhibition in 2002.

Louise is known for portraits and animal studies, seascapes and huntscenes. Often working to commission, her portraits are much in demand.

A selection of their works is permanently on display at 'Draiocht' Main St Adare, check out
