Introduction to The Witnesses

"Write about your experiences in London and call the book The Witnesses"

Talking to God every day, it came as little or no surprise that God should communicate his wishes to me (and this in sleep). I was only too eager to do as he asked and had only ever prevented myself from engaging in such a logical, if not ambitious, pursuit out of consideration for the difficulty of drawing a line to the workings of the Holy Spirit in my life. Where to begin? And where to end? But the Lord knew my heart, knew that I wanted to share this precious secret, that I had in fact tried to share it, to little or no avail. And now I was to get to trying once again.

It came easy in the end, just by letting the characters speak for themselves. The message is clear, though, if anything, a little understated. But I remember Jesus' own words:

If they will not listen either to Moses or the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone should rise from the dead." (Lk. 16:31)
I was looking and I found. I knocked and the door was opened unto me.
